Ever dreamt of pursuing your PhD in one of the top-notch institutes in London? Well if you ever did, then its good news for you as Imperial College London and its Indian supporters association, the Imperial College India Foundation, have launched a new scholarship programme for academically outstanding Indian students to study for a PhD at Imperial in London.
Under the initiative, Indian nationals residing in India can avail two full PhD studentships offered by institute and the Indian alumni.   • have an adequate standard of English, i.e. at least 6.5 in IELTS;

However, priority will be given to candidates who have not been already completed a degree at a higher education institution outside India.
Components of the scholarship:

  • Maintenance allowance equal to Imperial’s minimum stipend allowance in any given year.
  • An arrival allowance
  • One return flight to India
  • Scholarships will support either three years of study for a PhD or four years in certain cases where the student is required to undertake a one year postgraduate degree prior to beginning their PhD.
Application Process:
  • Candidates need to apply directly to the College for PhD admission, using the standard registry application process.
  • Once they have applied, candidates need to download and complete the application form.
  • The form must be signed by the student's supervisor and head of department.
  • Thereafter, candidates need to submit the application form along with a copy of the PhD application and parental tax returns as one document to Clare Turner by Friday 29 March 2013.
